RTHK Radio 3 launched “The Sunday Smile” website with Oursky
August 9th, 2009
Oursky Team has launched a website for “The Sunday Smile” , a programme on Radio 3, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), the largest public broadcasting organisation in Hong Kong. Targeting at children audience, the site’s interface is lively, interactive and simple. Through the website, children can make songs requests and check out recent episodes of “The Sunday Smile” if they missed the live broadcast.
Oursky Team picks up the project when RTHK figures that they need a customized Content Management System (CMS) for updating video, photos, audio and text frequently on the website. Thus, we’ve created a specialized solution to these needs: the Team has programmed a CMS for the Flash-based website in Codeigniter framework, and an action-script in Flash.
Oursky in Hong Kong Start-Up Association
May 20th, 2009It’s been quite a long time since we last wrote a blog entry. What were we up to? Well, lots of stuff, really, but one of the major projects is FONCEPT, our in-house project. When launched in last October, it was far from being perfect – just a very simple website with little features. During the past months we have been trying to polish it up by adding some community-enhancing elements and user-friendly features. We are glad that our efforts pay off – FONCEPT attracts more and more members!
Earlier this year, Ben gave a brief talk on web application start-up at HKUST. He shared his experience in setting up FONCEPT and gave advices on web projects start-up to students .
The following is Ben’s slideshow:
Foncept launched!

Subversion 1.5 package for Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)
July 3rd, 2008
Subversion 1.5 was released with a lot of new and cool features (like merge tracking!). However most of our servers currently run on Ubuntu 8.04 and as a stable release we can’t expect to have the official package of subversion 1.5 any time soon. That’s why we need to prepare the subversion 1.5 Ubuntu package ourselves.
The package (Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, i386) there was prepared on Amazon EC2 with Ubuntu 8.04, complied from the sources code of subversion 1.5.0 in Ubuntu 8.10. Enjoy yourselves
